Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a growing problem in the United States and Hispanics experience the highest burden of this disease. This review comprehensively introduced the synthesis method of noble metal nanoclusters, and summarized the application of metal nanoclusters as fluorescent sensing materials in the detection of pollutants, including pesticides, heavy metal, mycotoxin, food additives, and other contaminants in food. The detection mechanism of pesticide residues mostly relies on the inhibition of natural enzymes. For heavy metals, the detection mechanism is mainly related to the interaction between metal ions and nanoclusters or ligands. It is evidenced that metal nanoclusters have great potential application in the field of food safety monitoring. Moreover, challenges and future trends of nanoclusters were discussed. The American Heart Association recommended the use of the harmonized neuropsychological protocol suggested by the National Institute of Neurologic Disorders and Stroke and the Canadian Stroke Network (NINDS-CSN) for studying related cognitive impairments. Initially designed for vascular cognitive impairment, empirical data of results from NINDS-CSN protocol has not been well-established in hypertension. The present study recruited 58 adults diagnosed with hypertension and 44 normotensive controls. Tests from the NINDS-CSN protocol were given in three lengths, including neuropsychological tests and neuropsychiatric inventories. The results showed higher proportions of hypertensive adults with impairments on tests of memory and executive functions and that they performed worse as a group on several tests from the 30-minute protocol, but not on the other additional tests in the full-length version, nor on cognitive screening test in the 5-minute protocol such as the Mini-Mental State Examination or the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. There was no significant group difference on neuropsychiatric symptoms. Here, we evaluated the expression profiles of DITP using the Japanese Adverse Drug Event Report (JADER) database. We analyzed reports of DITP between April 2004 and January 2021 from the JADER database. The reporting odds ratio (ROR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to detect DITP signals. Factors thought to affect DITP, such as male sex and an age of at least 60 years, were added as covariates. We evaluated the time-to-onset profile and hazard type using the Weibull shape parameter. The JADER database contained 1,048,576 reports. Twelve of 60 antibiotics showed signals for DITP; the RORs (95% CIs) for ampicillin/sulbactam, ceftazidime, cefozopran, ciprofloxacin, fluconazole, fos-fluconazole, linezolid, pazufloxacin, piperacillin/tazobactam, teicoplanin, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, and voriconazole were 1.75 (1.41-2.16), 1.77 (1.42-2.18), 1.35 (1.06-1.72), 2.56 (2.19-2.98), 1.93 (1.67-2.23), 2.08 (1.76-2.46), 5.29 (2.73-9.60), 1.92 (1.51-2.41), 1.54 (1.05-2.19), 1.47 (1.16-1.84), 1.92 (1.73-2.14), and 2.32 (1.59-3.30), respectively. In multiple logistic regression analysis, 7 and 6 antibiotics were detected for the factors age and male sex, respectively. The median times-to-onset of DITP for ciprofloxacin (oral treatment), fluconazole, linezolid, piperacillin/tazobactam, and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole were 91, 91, 11.5, 10, and 9 days, respectively. The aims of this data-driven study were to examine the factor structure in a wide range of semantic tasks in healthy older adults, the possible differences in factor variables between healthy controls, patients with AD and patients with stroke aphasia, as well as the clinical applicability of tasks in differentiating the two patient groups from controls. Participants included 59 healthy older adults, 13 patients with AD and 14 patients with aphasia. The results indicated a four-factor solution for the semantic task variables (1) the Semantic association factor, (2) the Time factor, (3) the Verbal factor and (4) the Synonym factor. The Verbal factor was the only distinguishing factor between the two patient groups. Three factors reliably discriminated between the controls and the AD patients, and the Verbal factor reliably discriminated between the controls and the aphasia patients. This study supports the notions of semantic tasks tapping into more than one cognitive subcomponent and a more general semantic impairment in AD than in aphasia.
