Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is by making use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide a variety of benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you do not have enough of either.
The number of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced using various ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune, and many can be upgraded using suffix upgrades. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective instrument for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also enhance the retention of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph has a range of values it can enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by and not the amount it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are in awe of it.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you want to remove the glyph from an item you must salvage it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.
When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also place a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they can still be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will change the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the item's rarity as well as its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolling is a great way to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems because they are the only options to raise the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to change their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the upgrade value of any stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which can increase the damage or healing of a stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel however it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades can be random. In most cases, a better roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also opportunities for higher or more special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a special item type, it is likely to receiving a higher level.
Upgrades to items can be costly especially when you're upgrading an item of gear from the normal to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will attain the highest level on its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level, however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel also changes according to the upgrade path and base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional item will have a chance to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
