World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In item upgrades , many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative effects as well. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their stats. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a few friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be mixed in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping, the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but is not important such as a Thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear they won't replace soon (for instance an earring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade, players should consider their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying new ones.
