World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players increase an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to boost their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain when upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a few of your friends.
upgrade item to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to let you sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
There were a few changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that has a purpose but isn't essential as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the old one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
