Improved outcomes for patients on mechanical ventilation may be achieved with early mobilization (EM). However, it is not clear how widely this strategy is adopted into routine intensive care unit (ICU) practice in Saudi Arabia.
This study was conducted to describe the present practices and challenges to providing EM for mechanically ventilated patients, which may drive dissemination and implementation activities.
We approached 205 ICUs across Saudi Arabia using a validated tool to assess ICU characteristics, the practices of EM for mechanically ventilated patients, and the barriers to providing EM.
We approached 205 ICU persons in charge and achieved a 65% response rate (133 ICUs). The prevalence of EM for mechanically ventilated patients was 47% (63 ICUs). A total of 85 (64%) of the respondents reported having no previous training in EM. The absence of a written protocol was reported by 55% of the ICU practitioners in charge, 36% started EM within 2 to 5 days of critical illness, and 35% reported thd barriers to EM in the ICUs, respectively.

The versatility of these materials attracted attention from the very beginning in the most disparate sectors of science and technology. The application of nanomaterials in the biological and biomedical fields soon benefited from the interaction with liposomes, which increased their biocompatibility and biostability. Liposomes indeed are versatile self-assembling supramolecular (nano)structures constituted of an aqueous core enclosed by a lipid bilayer, able to host hydrophobic and hydrophilic cargo, and with superior biocompatibility and great similarity with the biological membranes. The result is the construction of hybrid nanoscale architectures, in which nanoparticles (NPs) are allocated either in the aqueous core, in the palisade of the lipid bilayer or on the outer surface of the vesicles. In the first part of this review, the principal methods for the preparation of NP-loaded liposomes are carefully illustrated in a tutorial manner. In the second part, an overview of the great potentialities deriving from the conjugation of liposomes with NPs is presented. In each paragraph, the main characteristics of the most notable classes of NPs, the related issues, and the advantages arising from their association with liposomes are shown. Here, the most significant research works in literature for each kind of system are presented.We have comparatively studied the behavior of water molecules associated with the DPPC (1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) bilayers in the presence and absence of β-sitosteryl sulfate (PSO4) with the help of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and SAXS (small-angle x-ray scattering) techniques. The DSC heating endotherms were analyzed to understand the intermolecular interactions between water molecules and the lipid headgroups. The strongly bound, weakly bound, and free water (SB-Water, WB-Water, and FW-Water, respectively) were thus identified in the bilayers and the impact of incorporating PSO4 was evaluated. The SAXS data provided the supporting evidence for the impact of PSO4 on the intake of water into the bilayer. Regardless of the presence or absence of PSO4, the SB-Water existed in the system as the non-freezable fraction. On the other hand, the WB-Water and FW-Water fractions, both of which are freezable, exhibited freezing and melting behaviors that differed from each other significantly. The enthalpies of fusion of the WB-Water, which differed from that of the FW-Water, also varied with the mole fractions of PSO4. PSO4 enhanced the fraction of WB -water in the bilayer while at the same time reducing the fractions of SB-Water and FW-Water. Since the approval of neurotrophic tropomyosin receptor kinase (NTRK) tyrosine kinase inhibitors for fist-line advanced stage pan-cancer therapy, pathologists and molecular biologists have been facing a complex question how should the large volume of specimens be screened for NTRK fusions? Immunohistochemistry is fast and cheap, but the sensitivity compared to RNA NGS is unclear.
We performed RNA-based next-generation sequencing on 1,329 cases and stained 24 NTRK-rearranged cases immunohistochemically with pan-TRK (ERP17341). Additionally, we performed a meta-analysis of the literature. After screening 580 studies, 200 additional NTRK-rearranged cases from 13 studies, analysed with sensitive molecular diagnostics as well as pan-TRK IHC, were included.
In the included 224 NTRK-rearranged solid tumours, the sensitivity for pan-TRK IHC was 82% and the false-negative rate was 18%. NTRK3 fusions had more false negatives (27%) compared to NTRK1 (6%) and NTRK2 (14%) (p=0.0006). Membranous, nuclear and peri-nuctesting on all eligible cases. The aim of this study was to incorporate the prognostic effect of progesterone receptor (PR) status into a new version of PREDICT and to compare its performance to the current version (2.2).
The prognostic effect of PR status was based on the analysis of data from 45,088 European patients with breast cancer from 49 studies in the Breast Cancer Association Consortium. Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the hazard ratio for PR status. Data from a New Zealand study of 11,365 patients with early invasive breast cancer were used for external validation. Model calibration and discrimination were used to test the model performance.

Professional socialization is an essential process of the nursing profession to internalize the values into behavior, resulting in professional identity. However, research into students' experience of professional socialization in clinical nursing education remains limited.
To explore Bachelor nursing students' (NS) experience of professional socialization in clinical education in Indonesia.
This study used a descriptive phenomenology qualitative approach. Four sessions of focus group discussions (FGD) were conducted with ten final-year NS from five teaching hospitals using the purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi methods and NVivo 12 Plus.
The analysis identified two themes and four-subthemes in this study. The first theme is the facilitators of the socialization experience, consisting of "being a professional nurse" and "Islamic culture". The second theme hinders the socialization experience, including "inadequacy of socialization" and "nurses' unprofessional behavior."

In our study, we identified lncRNA MIR9-3 host gene (MIR9-3HG) as the research target and explored its roles in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). RT-qPCR was conducted to reveal that MIR9-3HG was observably overexpressed in LUSC cells. Functional assays encompassing colony formation, 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining, transwell and flow cytometry assays and western blot detecting related proteins demonstrated that MIR9-3HG depletion hampered cell proliferation, migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) while accelerating cell apoptosis in LUSC. Subcellular fractionation assay were performed to demonstrate that MIR9-3HG was prominently distributed in the cytoplasm of LUSC cells. Luciferase reporter, RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation (RIP), immunofluorescence (IF), fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and RNA pull down assays were implemented to confirm that MIR9-3HG modulates LIM domain kinase 1 (LIMK1) mRNA and protein levels by sequestering microRNA-138-5p (miR-138-5p) and recruiting TATA-box binding protein associated factor 15 (TAF15) protein.
