7 years); (t (115) = -2.48; p = 0.015). Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms were detected in 18 successful candidates (26.9%) and 6 unsuccessful candidates (12.2%); (χ2 (1) = 2.85; p = 0.091).
Candidates who were successful in the first phase of the Brazilian Bar Association examination tended to be younger and scored higher for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms, but their stress levels did not differ from those of unsuccessful candidates.

Irritability has both mood and behavioral manifestations. These frequently co-occur, and it is unclear to what extent they are dissociable domains. We used confirmatory factor analysis and external validators to investigate the independence of mood and behavioral components of irritability.
The sample comprised 246 patients (mean age 45 years; 63% female) from four outpatient programs (depression, anxiety, bipolar, and schizophrenia) at a tertiary hospital. A clinical instrument rated by trained clinicians was specifically designed to capture irritable mood and disruptive behavior dimensionally, as well as current categorical diagnoses i.e., intermittent explosive disorder (IED); oppositional defiant disorder (ODD); and an adaptation to diagnose disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD) in adults. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test the best fitting irritability models and regression analyses were used to investigate associations with external validators.
Irritable mood and disruptivternal validity data suggest both overlapping and specific features of the mood vs. disruptive behavior dimensions of irritability.Neurological infection by herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is the cause of significant morbidity and mortality; and should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Typically, it is characterized by fever, headache and behavioral changes. Symptoms association, laboratory tests results and diagnostic imaging are essential for early diagnosis and treatment of this disease, in order to prevent its fatal progression. We present the case of a 45-year-old male patient diagnosed with HSV-2 encephalitis due to chronic steroid use. In previously healthy adult patients, neurological HSV-2 infection due to chronic steroid use is extremely rare; and the association has not been previously described.During the COVID-19 pandemic, a new, severe and unusual condition called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children emerged, from which there is still much to learn. We report 8 children admitted to Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño, in Lima, Perú. Their mean age was 5,1 years. Their clinical presentation included fever, acute gastrointestinal symptoms, ocular and mucocutaneous involvement. Four patients met criteria for classic Kawasaki Disease. All the patients had positive serology for SARS-CoV-2, abnormal complete blood counts and coagulation tests, and elevated inflammatory markers. Five had elevated liver enzymes and three had kidney involvement. Four patients met criteria for Macrophage Activation Syndrome. All of them received intravenous immune globulin, corticosteroids and aspirin. No coronary aneurysms were identified. SCH772984 purchase Only one developed miocarditis, shock and was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Most patients recovered successfully. Every child with fever, gastrointestinal and dermatological symptoms, associated with prior exposure to SARS-CoV-2, should be investigated for multi-systemic compromise.Tuberculosis remains an urgent issue on the urban health agenda, especially in low- and middle-income countries. There is a need to develop and implement innovative and effective solutions in the tuberculosis diagnostic process. In this article, We describe the importance of artificial intelligence as a strategy to address tuberculosis control, particularly by providing timely diagnosis. Besides technological factors, the role of socio-technical, cultural and organizational factors is emphasized. The eRx tool involving deep learning algorithms and specifically the use of convolutional neural networks is presented as a case study. eRx is a promising artificial intelligence-based tool for the diagnosis of tuberculosis; which comprises a variety of innovative techniques involving remote X-ray analysis for suspected tuberculosis cases. Innovations based on artificial intelligence tools can optimize the diagnostic process for tuberculosis and other communicable diseases.Human stem cells are born with the creation of life itself and some of them remain throughout life. Therefore, they can be found in adult tissues and used for basic and applied research. Currently, in our country there is a growing interest in the study and application of stem cells; however, little is known about the identification procedure. For this reason, this study aims to present, from a practical point of view, a procedure for the culture and identification of stem/stromal cells obtained from human lipoaspirate (Adipose Stem Cells), for research purposes. This procedure includes the immunophenotype characterization, cell differentiation potential, gene expression and cell culture quality control; and will serve as support for Peruvian scientific community professionals who wish to develop this line of research.Patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who then become infected with SARS-CoV-2, are at greater risk of developing complications from COVID-19, which may even lead to death. Diabetes is a chronic condition that requires continuous contact with healthcare facilities; therefore, this type of patients should have regular access to medicines, tests and appointments with healthcare personnel. In Peru, care and treatment continuity have been affected since the national state of emergency due to COVID-19 began; because many healthcare facilities suspended outpatient consultations. The strategies presented in this study were developed by different Peruvian health providers in the pandemic context to ensure care continuity for people with diabetes. This article provides recommendations to strengthen primary healthcare, because it is the first level of healthcare contact for patients with diabetes.
