oice context. There remains scope for research into the different components of participant understanding, particularly related to engagement, the impact of participant understanding on DCE validity and reliability, the best measures of understanding, and methods to maximise participant understanding.
Those conducting or using health DCEs should carefully select, justify, and report the measurement and potential impact of participant understanding in their specific choice context. There remains scope for research into the different components of participant understanding, particularly related to engagement, the impact of participant understanding on DCE validity and reliability, the best measures of understanding, and methods to maximise participant understanding.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has shown an exponential trend of infected people across the planet. Crediting its virulent nature, it becomes imperative to identify potential therapeutic agents against the deadly virus. The 3-chymotrypsin-like protease (3CLpro) is a cysteine protease which causes the proteolysis of the replicase polyproteins to generate functional proteins, which is a crucial step for viral replication and infection. Computational methods have been applied in recent studies to identify promising inhibitors against 3CLpro to inhibit the viral activity. This review provides an overview of promising drug/lead candidates identified so far against 3CLpro through various in silico approaches such as structure-based virtual screening (SBVS), ligand-based virtual screening (LBVS) and drug-repurposing/drug-reprofiling/drug-retasking. Further, the drugs have been classified according to their chemical structures or biological activity into flavonoids, peptides, terpenes, quinolines, nucleoside and nucleotide analogues, protease inhibitors, phenalene and antibiotic derivatives. These are then individually discussed based on the various structural parameters namely estimated free energy of binding (ΔG), key interacting residues, types of intermolecular interactions and structural stability of 3CLpro-ligand complexes obtained from the results of molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.
The review provides comprehensive information of potential inhibitors identified through several computational methods thus far against 3CLpro from SARS-CoV-2 and provides a better understanding of their interaction patterns and dynamic states of free and ligand-bound 3CLpro structures.

To investigate a possible association between glaucoma and the use of anti-retroviral therapy (ART) for HIV in the Australian population.
A retrospective review of Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme data was undertaken from July 2012 to December 2016, inclusive. Three patient groups were compared those on both topical intraocular pressure (IOP) -lowering medication and ART, those on ART only, and those on IOP-lowering medication only, using the 2016 Australian resident population to estimate prevalence. Odds ratios (95% confidence intervals, [CI]) with Fishers exact test for p values were calculated stratified by age and gender.
The number of prescriptions for topical glaucoma medications in the general Australian population increased progressively by age with a peak prevalence in those aged 80 years and above. Prevalence of ART was highest in males aged 40-49 and 50-59 years (0.41% [CI 0.40, 0.42] and 0.44% [CI 0.43, 0.45], respectively). Our analysis identified an increase in the prescription oect, or increased medical surveillance.
Indeterminate biliary strictures (IDBS) continue to be an area of frustration for clinicians. Standard endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with conventional brush cytology and/or forceps biopsy has a low sensitivity for distinguishing benign from malignant biliary strictures. A delay in diagnosis of malignancy has consequences for subsequent therapy or surgery. In this article, we review current and emerging technologies that may aid in this diagnostic dilemma.
Several technologies have been utilized in IDBS to establish a diagnosis which include peroral cholangioscopy, confocal laser endomicroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound with fine needle aspiration, intraductal ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, fluorescence in situ hybridization, next generation sequencing, integrated molecular pathology, and DNA-image cytometry. While cholangioscopy and confocal laser endomicroscopy have become standards of care in expert centers for the evaluation of patients with IDBS, there are several endoscopic and molecular modalities that may also aid in establishing a diagnosis. Further head-to-head prospective diagnostic studies as well as cost-efficacy studies are needed.

The thiolated DNA dual probe was self-assembled onto the surface of the gold nanoparticle-modified screen-printed carbon electrode (AuNPs/SPCE) to recognize selected sequences from yaiO and f17 genes. The optimal conditions to prepare the bioelectrode were determined based on the monitoring of the impedimetric response fitted to an equivalent electrical circuit model. The charge transfer resistance of the bioelectrode increased by recognizing the target DNA sequences. The limit of detection was 0.8 fM and 1.0 fM for yaiO and f17 target DNA, respectively, and the linearity ranged from 1 × 10-15 to 1 × 10-7 M with a linear regression coefficient R ≥ 0.995. The nanodevice provided a novel strategy for simultaneous detection of E. coli and its virulence f17 gene with excellent discrimination with a single-base mismatch, two-base mismatch, and non-complementary sequences. Moreover, genomic DNA extracted from E.
