upgrade item of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure what can be improved upon an update.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.
You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades . This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
