Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can sometimes increase the performance of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.
For example, the elite shield of racial violence Razortail is commonly upgraded for its lightning absorb ability in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the un-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens are a way to reroll a purchased item like an armor, weapon or rings. The item is replaced with another item of the same type, but with different bonuses. Reroll tokens are an affordable method of upgrading gear. However, they do not retain the same level as the original item and any resources wasted won't be compensated for.
The surviving players can acquire tokens to reroll in many ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They are also available in crates and chests, or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens are used to alter the attributes of a piece equipment, for example increasing its damage.
Players can reroll their equipment using three attributes three categories: physical power, magic power, and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage done by weapons and melee attacks while spell power improves mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional level of health.
Three types of reroll tokens are available: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to produce it. Upgrades that are enhanced require a standard item, while rare upgrades require a unique or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The marker for rerolling, unlike markers or tokens placed on action spaces remains on the space until the next success is to be rerolled. This allows you to avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened they will display a complete description and an icon for the corresponding Appliance or Ingredient. The restaurant's store will exchange blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for an amount of money.
During the course of an event, blueprints may be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to chosen Franchise Cards. This alters the blueprints the restaurant's shop can offer to reroll, and those that are in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and accessories. These stones are special stones that boost the value of an item by increasing its stats or characteristics. Players can find these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell these stones for a cost. In addition, players can get these stones by completing daily contracts.
To upgrade gear players must first locate the item and then click the "level up button". This will display a menu that shows the item's current status and what it will be when being upgraded as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Most often rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas uncommon armor requires only one green or blue Growth Stone.
After choosing the item to upgrade, the user must choose the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. Once the player has satisfied the requirements, they can select the upgrade option and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. The upgrade process can last between a few seconds and minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is risk-free and does not impact the longevity of the item. This is a great way for players who want to gain an advantage in combat but don't want to burden their wallets. Additionally players can transfer experience and advancement of an upgraded item to a new gear by clicking on the "transfer" tab.
The process of obtaining Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be a challenge for new players. However, there are numerous methods to obtain these stones, such as contract completion and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or getting them from the reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that allows players to increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials, and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade materials will be consumed and the item will receive a higher level. This process continues until the item reaches its maximum level.
Items with upgraded stats will have an icon of blue next to their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments can't be applied to more than one item at the same time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a specific quantity of items to be added in addition to an initial amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right, an image of the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after a player has sufficient materials will start the upgrading process.
A piece of gear can be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its base stats will increase by a small amount. The highest level for an item is 19.
When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades are no longer available to it. When a piece of equipment attains a certain upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer), upgrades for that track will come with a discount.
Upgrade components are a form of equipment that can slot into armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools in order to provide an additional effect or bonus while the equipment is equipped. They can be purchased through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced by new ones, but doing so could destroy the previous upgrade, with the exception of for glyphs, which can be replaced and removed at any time.
Requirements
Items upgrades enable players to increase certain stats of armor and weapons they already have. The requirements to upgrade an item vary depending on the kind of item however, generally you'll require Dilithium as well as a few Upgrade Tokens (various options are available).
The items can be upgraded by adding item upgrade components to equipment and weapons. This will give them extra effects or an increased item level. The upgrades can be acquired through a variety of sources in the game, including through crafting, purchased from the Trading Post or karma vendors or looted from bosses and raids, or retrieved from dungeons. Once item upgrading is placed into an object, it is not able to be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrades can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can improve the stats of the item.
For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" increases base defense and adds an extra 20% chance to block. In addition the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases damage to weapons.
Some items are better off being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but for the fact that it allows players to get the maximum amount of value out of a perfect roll on the item. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
The game will show you the requirements once you choose the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. These include the item type (either Weapon or Armor) and the level of the item, the Upgrade Token required, as well as the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
Once you've met the required requirements for an upgrade, the game will place the item in your inventory and the progress bar will be updated to show how close to completing it. You can also check the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC who upgrades items.
