During the course of a run, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to selected Franchise Cards. This alters the kind of blueprints that a restaurant's shop has available to reroll and which are available in the non-droppable Pool.

When the requirements have been fulfilled, the player may then click on the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level a certain percentage. The process of upgrading can last anywhere from seconds to several minutes, based on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process also is risk-free and will not affect the item's longevity. This makes the system an excellent method for players to gain an advantage in combat without straining their bank account. Furthermore, players can transfer the experience and progress of an upgraded item to a new item by clicking the "transfer" tab.
For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets you increase the effectiveness of weapons and armor. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials, and also pay a cost in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume upgrade components and grant the item a higher level, granting the item a boost in that area. This process continues until the item is at its highest level.
Items that have upgraded base stats display an icon of blue in their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments cannot be added to more than one item at a time. Each upgrade component requires a certain number of items, as well as a minimum level of equipment.

They can be bought from vendors, looted, acquired through questing or exchanged between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, but doing so could destroy the previous upgrade, except for glyphs which can be removed and replaced freely.

Item upgrade components can be used to make set pieces and weapons for added effects or a higher level of the item. These upgrades can come from a variety of sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting during bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component is added to an object it isn't able to be removed or replaced. However it is possible to swap glyphs freely.
Upgrading an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. Some upgrade components also have additional modifiers that can increase the item's statistics.
The helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" for example, increases base defense and gives an additional 20 percent chance to block. In addition, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" boosts weapon damage.
Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they increase stats. They are more valuable for the players when they achieve the perfect roll. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for instance is highly sought-after by the melee PvP communities and could be worth 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.
When you select an upgrade component to slot into an item the game will show an open window that displays the requirements required for that item. These include the item type (either Weapon or Armor), the tier of the item as well as the upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
The game will add an item in your inventory after you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will then update to show how close you are to finishing the upgrade. You can also check the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
