Recently, a very interesting article on solastalgia was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health [...].OBJECTIVES To assess and compare dietpractices, body mass index (BMI), and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in adults with and without periodontitis. METHODS Demographics, health-related behaviors, BMI, dental and periodontal parameters, diet practices, and Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) were collected from 62periodontitis patients and 100 controls without periodontitis. RESULTS Havingperiodontitis was positively associated with male sex (p=0.004), older age (p less then 0.001), smoking pack-years (p = 0.006), weight (p = 0.008), BMI (p = 0.003), number of meals per day (p less then 0.001) and had a negative associationwithdecayed teeth (p = 0.013), alcohol (p = 0.006), and sweets (p = 0.007) consumption.Periodontitis patients were more likely to avoid carbonated beverages (p = 0.028), hot (p = 0.003), and cold drinks (p = 0.013), cold (p = 0.028), hardtextured (p = 0.002), and fibrous foods (p = 0.02) thanthe controls, and exhibited higher global OHIP-14 (p less then 0.001) andmost domain scores. Age (p less then 0.001), BMI (p =0.045), number of meals per day (p = 0.024), and global OHIP-14 score (p less then 0.001) remained positivelyassociated with periodontitis in the multivariate analysis. CONCLUSIONS Periodontitis patients exhibitedhigher BMI and altered dietpracticesand OHRQoL as compared to controls. Assessment of diet practices, BMI,and OHRQoLshould bepart of periodontal work-up. Dentists and dietitians shouldcollaborate to design strategies to addressthese challenges. In this paper, the problem of optimal sensor arrangement during vibration monitoring is analysed. The wave propagation caused by horizontal excitation is investigated to predict the areas of the largest ground and structure response. The equations of motion for a transversally isotropic elastic medium with appropriate absorbing boundary conditions are solved using the finite element method (FlexPDE software). The possibility of an amplified soil medium response is examined for points located on the ground surface and at various depths. this website The results are presented in the form of a dimensionless vibration reduction factor, defined as the ratio of the peak particle velocity observed at the selected depth to the corresponding value observed at the ground surface. Significant amplifications (≈50%) can be observed below the ground surface, especially in the case of a weak layer below a stiff layer. The effect of vibration amplification is most significant near the boundary surface of two layers. For the points located on the ground surface, the greatest peak particle velocities are observed in the direction perpendicular to the load direction. However, the greatest vertical velocity component at the ground surface is observed in front of the applied force. In a cellular network, signaling and data messages exchanged between network elements are an extremely valuable information for network optimization. The consideration of different types of information allows to improve the optimization results. However, the huge amount of information has made it very difficult for operators to process all the available information. To cope with this issue, in this paper, a methodology for processing cell and user connection traces to optimize a live cellular network is presented. The aim is to generate new performance indicators different from those supplied by manufacturers, taking advantage of the ability of complex event processing tools to correlate events of different nature. For illustrative purposes, an example of how a new performance indicator is created from real traces by complex event processing is given.Understanding a person's feelings is a very important process for the affective computing. People express their emotions in various ways. Among them, facial expression is the most effective way to present human emotional status. We propose efficient deep joint spatiotemporal features for facial expression recognition based on the deep appearance and geometric neural networks. We apply three-dimensional (3D) convolution to extract spatial and temporal features at the same time. For the geometric network, 23 dominant facial landmarks are selected to express the movement of facial muscle through the analysis of energy distribution of whole facial landmarks. We combine these features by the designed joint fusion classifier to complement each other. From the experimental results, we verify the recognition accuracy of 99.21%, 87.88%, and 91.83% for CK+, MMI, and FERA datasets, respectively. Through the comparative analysis, we show that the proposed scheme is able to improve the recognition accuracy by 4% at least.Research in some religious countries shows that religiosity and spirituality positively affect adolescent health. We studied whether religiosity and spirituality also have positive associations with adolescent health in a secular country. We tested the associations between religious attendance and spirituality and self-reported health and health complaints using a representative sample of Czech adolescents (n = 4182, 14.4 ± 1.1 years, 48.6% boys) from the 2014 health behavior in school-aged children (HBSC) study. We used religious attendance, the adjusted shortened version of the spiritual well-being scale (SWBS), and its two components-religious well-being (RWB) and existential well-being (EWB)-as independent variables and the eight item "HBSC symptom checklist" and self-reported overall health as dependent variables. A higher level of spirituality was associated with lower chances of health complaints and self-reported health, ranging from a 9% to 30% decrease in odd ratios (OR). Religious attendance was not associated with any of the observed variables. The EWB showed a negative association with all of the observed variables, with associations ranging from a 19% to 47% decrease. The RWB was associated with a higher risk of nervousness (OR = 1.12), while other associations were not significant. Non-spiritual but attending respondents were more likely to report a higher occurrence of stomachache (OR = 2.20) and had significantly worse overall health (OR = 2.38). In a largely secular country, we found that spirituality and the EWB (unlike religious attendance and the RWB) could have a significant influence on adolescent health.
