World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a key part of gearing up your character. Upgrades increase item damage and the ability to enchant.
They also offer bonus effects and enhancements. They are available from the Blacksmith.
Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Every item recycled adds level to the upgrade gauge.
Weapon
When a weapon is upgraded, it will gain a base damage bonus, as well as a scaling factor which affects other stats. Some upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional features. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. The majority of them require that the item has an upgrade slot available and meet certain specifications. When a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, the item can be upgraded but the prior upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be found by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit Ascended Salvage tool, or high-tier salvaging tool for an item.
In addition to the basic upgrades, a weapon may be upgraded using a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times, based on weapon's level.
Once the weapon has reached maximum upgrade, it can be reforged with a number of different types of upgrades to increase specific stats or to add bonuses and effects. Several of these upgrades can be used simultaneously, and the effects are based on the nature of the weapon.
There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the damage a weapon deals and Somber Smithing Stones to modify standard weapons.
Generally, it is recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats as required by your build. It is not uncommon to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons before upgrading any other equipment. This will increase DPS. This is particularly true for enchantments, which are extremely efficient in increasing the weapon's damage and other stats.
Armor
Item Upgrades let players enhance the stats of certain armors, weapons trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades can also bring additional effects, like additional damage or a cosmetic enhancement. Item upgrades can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors, in loot drops, or as rewards from quests.
The upgrade of armor can be done by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. In the majority of cases, a piece of armor will be upgraded to next level after an upgrade is applied. Most types of armor are upgradeable, however some items (such as the armor used to start in Great Sky Island) cannot.
Most armor upgrades provide some improvement to an item's base defense or strength. Some upgrades, however, can result in significant increases in defense or strength. This is particularly the case when upgrading epic items.
Certain upgrades offer special abilities which can be activated when wearing armor. These abilities can be beneficial in combat, such as granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades provide passive effects that are useful, such as decreasing damage when wearing armor or increasing the chance of avoiding an attack.
Upgrades to armor may require several attempts, depending on the type of armor. If a player is looking to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale and the first attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has a defense base between 59-67. The second attempt would result in an Dragonscale armor with an initial defense range of between 67-77.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allows players to upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do this, players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains located in the game. Each of these locations holds an incredibly powerful fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.
Contrary to popular belief, armor in The Division 2 is not useless. Certain armors give a substantial increase in the ability to reduce damage caused by poison spells, curses, magic or fire. This makes them very useful for certain types of builds. There are other ways to boost the stats of armor besides upgrading the armor, like using the engineer attribute to increase armor penetration or the challenger to reduce the weight of the entire armor.
Potion
A potion can be upgraded by putting it in a brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new tier of potion effects, and can be re-used for more potencies.
The potion also gains an individual color code, which the player can select by using /give. This can affect the area-of-effect clouds as well as arrows generated by the potions. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion color also affects the particle effects of the potions.
The water bottle, a common, thick and awkward potions now have a brand new texture for brewing. In item upgrader and weakness have been added. Added lingering potions that can be brewed with splash potions or dragon breath and a strong potion with the status effect Mining Fatigue (duration 4:45). Issues relating to this update are maintained on the Bug Tracker.
Trinket
A trinket can be an inexpensive, small ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a ring or necklace. Or even a small banner to mark the yard of a boat. It could also be a reference to a gold-plated trinket on the mast of a ship.
This bizarre trinket appears to be influencing the inhabitants of this maze, making them more common. The trinket, at present, makes all types Xx of mimics more common and gives each floor a A% chance that it will contain an ebony-colored replica. This trinket is priced at a moderate amount of energy to upgrade.
The enchanted Scepter's magic appears to influence the dungeon and increase the likelihood of generating water and grass. At its current level this trinket will make X% of the floors become filled with grass or water, but doesn't affect enchantments or the glyphs, cursed weapons, armor, or items generated to solve hazard rooms.
Although it appears to be a normal newt's eye, this mystical item seems to affect your vision in ways beyond just reducing your field view. At its current level this trinket increases the overall health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X% and grants mind eyesight on enemies within the Y tiles. This is not a stacking feature with Heightened Senses.
After completing the Mastery Cave, you can find Trinkets by taking on Monsters and inside crates and chests in Skull Cavern. They are not found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.
When you have a trinket that requires upgrading then place it in the Anvil to do so. This will affect the trinket, either increasing or strengthening its effects. You can reorge the Trinket multiple times as often as you want, though it will always have an impact that is different from the one it was when you forged it.
You can also improve your Trinkets by putting them in a Magical Catalyst at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy, but increase the trinkets power by a tiny amount.
