As Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been gradually controlled domestically, various industries began to resume production in an orderly way. Attention should be paid to the disease and population characteristics of patients with cleft lip with/without palate during diagnosis and treatment. This article summarized and provided prevention and control recommendations on management strategies during hospitalization and protective measures of patients and healthcare workers, hoping to minimize the spread of disease and create a relatively safe environment for medical work.

Nonincisional blepharoplasty is widely practiced to make natural double eyelids. However, this method has the disadvantage of the double fold loosening compared to incisional blepharoplasty. Many researchers have proposed a method of nonincisional blepharoplasty with lower risk of loosening. The authors innovated the method to induce spontaneous adhesion in a nonincisional blepharoplasty with induction of partial linear adhesions, and, therefore, lowering the risk of suture loosening. While performing this procedure, the orbicularis oculi muscle and the levator palpebrae muscle were partially incised through eight tiny incisions to induce adhesion, and the double eyelid was made with the nonincisional continuous suture technique. This study included 99 patients who underwent natural adhesion blepharoplasty technique between January and December 2018. After 1 year of follow-up, no double eyelid loosening was observed. Natural adhesion blepharoplasty is simple technique to create natural-looking results and asimple technique to create natural-looking results and a durable double fold with satisfactory aesthetic results.
Subperiosteal orbital hemorrhage in the postpartum period has been rarely reported. Selleckchem Proteasome inhibitor The authors herein present a female patient who developed acute-onset vertical diplopia, proptosis, mild retro-orbital pain, and restriction of upgaze immediately after labor. Neuroimaging revealed a subperiosteal hematoma along the right orbital roof. Diplopia, motility limitation, and retro-orbital pain gradually resolved in the following weeks. Subperiosteal orbital hematomas are a rare complication of labor, with only 12 cases reported so far. They result from straining during labor, which increases central and orbital venous pressure by means of the Valsalva-maneuver. In order to evaluate ocular motility and exclude optic nerve compression, an urgent ophthalmological examination is required.

A 19-year-old woman consulted for bilateral superotemporal conjunctival lesions that had been present since birth. Physical examination also revealed hemifacial microsomia and bilateral auricular appendages. Medical history included heart, hearing, and neurologic problems. Excision biopsy of these lesions showed nodular proliferations of adipose tissue, which corresponded to the diagnosis of dermolipomas in the setting of Goldenhar syndrome. Complete examination for other first and second branchial arch anomalies is warranted in patients presenting with such lesions.

Cerebral fat embolism following facial autologous fat injection is a rare and serious complication. There are limited long-term follow-up data on the motion, cognitive and mental outcomes of surviving patients with cerebral fat embolism following facial autologous fat injection. In this study, the authors reported a patient with a 22-year-old woman with a massive right hemisphere infarction following facial autologous fat injection had normal cognitive function, independent living ability, and social function at 5 years follow-up visit, even though computed tomography showed her entire right cerebral hemisphere had atrophied with softening lesions.
