World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of your items is a vital element of equipping your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and enhancements.
They also provide bonuses and enhancements. The Blacksmith can also sell them to you.
The upgrade button is located on any item. Every recycled item adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.
Weapons
If a weapon is upgraded, it gets a base damage bonus and a scaling factor which affects other stats. The weapon may also gain a variety of upgrade components, which provide additional features or effects, and some have distinct cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be inserted into armor, weapons, trinkets, or gathering tools. item upgrades require the equipment to have an upgrade slot that is available and meet certain specifications. The upgrade component can be removed from a weapon, armor or trinket, but it will not be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be found by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit Ascended Salvage tool, or high-tier salvaging tool for an item.
A weapon can also be upgraded to include a Calibration attribute that increases certain stats, for example Weakspot damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times depending on the weapon's level.
Once the weapon has reached max upgrade, it can be reforged using a variety of different upgrade types to improve certain stats or add bonuses and effects. All of these upgrades can be used simultaneously and their effects will differ based on how rare the weapon is.
There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage weapon does and Somber Smithing Stones to modify standard weapons.
It is generally recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, followed by armour defense, then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. Particularly, it is common to see melee druids enhancing their weapon prior to any other gear, because it will increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments that enhance a weapon's stats and damage.
Armor
Item Upgrades let players enhance the effectiveness of specific weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have other effects, such as an increase in damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, buying from NPC vendors, loot drop or as rewards for quests.
The quality of armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC, and spending the appropriate currency. Most of the time the armor will be upgraded to the next level after an upgrade is applied. This is the case for most types of armor, but certain items are not upgradeable in any way (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).
Most armor upgrades increase the item's defense or strength by only a tiny amount. However, item upgrades can provide significant improvements in defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an item that is epic.
Some upgrades provide specific abilities that can be activated while wearing armor. These abilities can be beneficial in combat, for instance granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades also offer passive effects, for instance decreasing the amount of damage sustained when wearing armor, or giving you a the ability to deflect attacks.
Upgrades to armor could require multiple attempts, based on the type of armor. For instance the case of a player wanting to upgrade the strength of a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale, the first attempt will result in a brand new piece of Dragonscale with the base defense of 59-67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has a base defense between 67-77, and the list goes on.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do this it is necessary to visit each of the four locations known as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations is home to the power of a fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player.
Despite popular belief it isn't a necessity in The Division 2. The reality is that certain armors come with very substantial boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic damage reduction, making them invaluable for certain types of builds. There are other methods to boost the stats of armor besides upgrading armor, such as using the engineer trait to increase armor penetration or the challenger to reduce the weight of the entire armor.
Potion
A potion can be upgraded by putting it in the brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new tier of potion effect, and can be repeated for more potency levels.
The potion also has a custom color code, which the player can choose by using /give. This can affect the area-of-effect clouds as well as arrows created by the potions. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion color is also applied to the particle effects of the potions.
The water bottle, common and thick potions and awkward potions now have a new brewing texture. In the Creative Inventory, potion healing and potion weakness have been added. The potions are lingering and can be prepared using splash potions or dragon breath and a thick pot with the status effect of Mining Fatigue (duration 4:45). Problems related to this update can be tracked on the Bug Tracker.
Trinket
A trinket is a small inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. This can be a necklace, ring, or even a small flag that is used to identify a boat's lateen yard. It could also be a reference to a gold-plated trinket on the mast of a ship.
This macabre trinket seems to be influencing the residents of this maze which makes them more prevalent. At the moment, this trinket makes all kinds of mimic Xx more prevalent, and gives each floor the chance to have an ebony-colored mimic. Upgrades to this trinket require a moderate amount energy.
The magic of this enchanted scepter seems to affect the dungeon itself, making it more likely to produce water and grass. This trinket at the current level, will cause X% of the regular floors to be filled with water or grass. It will not affect glyphs, enchantments or cursed weapons or armor, or items that are produced to aid in the elimination of danger rooms.
While it appears like the normal eye of a newt this mysterious object appears to be affecting your vision in ways beyond merely reducing your field of view. This trinket, at the moment level, boosts the health gained by drinking potions of healing and wells of life by X% and grants mind sight on enemies within the Y tile. This trinket is not stacked with the Higher Senses.
Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after you've completed the Mastery Cave. You will find them when you defeat Monsters and in chests and crates. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.
If you find a trinket that requires upgrading, place it in the Anvil to do so. This will affect the trinket that is random and will either increase or strengthen its effects. You can reorge the Trinket for as many times as you wish, however it will always have an effect that is different from the one it was when you first made it.
You can upgrade your Trinkets in the Alchemy Station by placing them into the Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy and increase the power of the trinket by a small amount.
